Composition structure of artificial turf

1. Chemical composition

Its raw materials are mainly polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), and can also be used as polyvinyl chloride and polyamide. The leaves have the green color of natural grass and need ultraviolet absorbent.

Polyethylene (PE) : feel more soft, appearance and movement performance is closer to natural grass, widely accepted by users. It is the most widely used artificial grass fiber raw material in the 21st century

Polypropylene (PP) : Grass fiber is hard, generally suitable for tennis courts, playgrounds, running tracks or decorative purposes. Wear resistance is slightly worse than polyethylene

Nylon: is the earliest artificial grass fiber raw material, belongs to the first generation of artificial grass fiber. Grass silk soft, comfortable feet.

2. Material structure

Artificial turf consists of three layers of material. The base layer is composed of compacted soil, crushed stone and asphalt or concrete layers. The base layer requires solid, non-deformation, smooth surface and impervious to water, that is, the general concrete site. Because hockey field area is large, construction must handle the base layer, prevent subsidence. If the concrete layer, concrete after curing to cut expansion joints, to prevent thermal expansion deformation and cracks.

Above the base layer is a cushioning layer, usually made of rubber or foam. Rubber has moderate elasticity and thickness of 3~5mm. With foam plastic cost is low, but poor elasticity, thickness 5~10mm, too thick lawn is too soft, and easy to sag; Too thin and lack of elasticity, can not play a buffer role. Buffer layer to be firmly pasted on the base layer, generally with white latex or all-purpose adhesive paste.

The third layer, or surface layer, is the grass cortex. According to the surface shape of the manufacture, there are fuzzy turf, circular curling nylon silk turf, leaf polypropylene fiber turf, nylon silk weaving permeable turf and so on. This layer must also be glued to rubber or styrofoam with latex. Construction must be fully coated, followed by pressure clingy, can not wrinkle.

In foreign countries, there are two common types of grass cortex: 1, grass cortex phylloid fiber is thin, only 1.2~1.5mm; 2. The turf fiber is thick, 20~24mm, and it is filled almost to the top of the fiber with quartz.
